The potential for using MgO and SiO 2 , recovered from olivine, was investigated use as a cementitious binder system. to proportion the fixed at 1:1. nature of hydration products were characterized variety techniques including isothermal calorimetry, XRD, FTIR, SEM. primary binding component paste determined be magnesium silicate hydrate (M-S-H). silica exhibited faster reactivity compared commercially available fume. Compressive strengths in excess 20 MPa obtained materials olivine.
